    Advice needed =]

    Hey guys,

Basically, I have about 1-1.5k to spend and need some help. I currently have a 95 EG and am looking at putting some sort of sound system in, as the current one I have is stock

Any advice on recommended brands would be greatly appreciated. In my old car I was running Alpine Type R front splits and Type R 6x9, with a NESA headunit. Sounded crisp to me, but there was some skipping of tracks if I went over speedbumps too fast... didn't really like this...

This time I'm looking to run an amp and sub, want something louder and love my base. Doesn't need to be overly loud... not one of those 'doof doof' people.

Was considering Alpine CDA-9887 or Clarions DXZ786USB. Anything else I should consider? Also, I live in Melbourne... was just going to get it installed at JB but if you know some decent Car Audio specialists let me know.

    Thanks guys

get the 9886, USB standard, 9887 you have to buy external box for USB. only saying that cause i see your looking at a clarion with USB...

    Hey all,

    Ended up buying an...

    Alpine CDA 9887
    Alpine Type r front splits
    Alpine Type r 6's
    Alpine amplifier (MRP M500)
Alpine Type r 12" subwoofer, with an enclosed Alpine box.

All up came to exactly $1,500 with wiring included. Not sure exactly if this was that cheap, but I'm happy with it =]

Now just need to look for somewhere to get everything installed...
