Central locking and door switch problem

hey guys just wanted to get an idea how easy it is to replace the door switch on an em1. not the door handle but the switch that locks/unlocks the door. mine snapped tonight for some reason when i tried to open it.

basically because my actuator is also fkd i cant open the door from the inside. LOL. when i lock or open the door from the outside using my key, i hear a grunting/grinding kind of sound. is this related to a dead actuator?

using xposed's pic for a reference. (the switch is just before the handle)

The lock is mechanical connected to the electric actuator. If the actuator is causing a resistance you will need to replace it or disconnect it.

You will need to remove the door trim to do this.

    Hope this helps.

car audio/alarm installers should have actuator kits readily available. If your handy at DIY's then it should be a matter of taking of door trims and replacing the units.

I got my friend to do it for me. Are you around the Clayton/springy area? If so i can recommend you where

Pretty straight forward Phil. Drop me a PM if you need a hand.
See a good post? Give it a PQ point.

if you do it yourself, do not take the plastic covering that is glued to the door. I did and now i can hear alot of road noise inside the car.
Only people with small wieners can read this, sorry
