Reverse Gear problem with my DC2R?

    Hi peoples

I recently just noticed, that when i put my car into reverse before taking off, it jolts and makes that noticeable sound when gearing into reverse before take off, i have no idea what is causing this problem, it's worrying me...
any clues what is causing this problem?

Also i gave it a squirt today as in vtec and i tried to get it into 5th gear it was getting stuck and before you know it, i started mashing some of the gears were hard to gear down , so i pulled over, smelt like something was burning.....obviously i wasn't racing the gears, quick shifting, it failed today anyways, it would be good if some people here would answer the above question to my problem...

Change your transmission fluid. That solves over 50% of gearbox issues.
If the problem still exists, check engine mounts for wear or hairline cracks.
    Change engine mounts.
If that's still not the problem, say hello to new syncros/gears!

Are you sure you still have G/B fluid, and it hasn't been leaking from anywhere, like your driveshaft seals?

Check and change your g/b oil. Follow the steps arron says above.

Is your clutch biting point at the bottom near the floor? If yes, then bleed your clutch line a little bit. Your clutch might not be fully disengaging, hence you get that jolt when you put it into gear.

could also check clutch slave cylinder. that could be affecting gear changes also
