Unhappy Problems with EK4 in the rain ???

I am having problems with my 95 Civic Ek4 when it rains and it is very puzzling.

Just so you know whats happening I have an oil leak and a clutch fluid leak but i know where they are leaking from and have my car booked into Honda to get them sorted.

Now the puzzling part is, when it rains and only when it is physically raining, my car starts to bog out at about 3000 rpm and then the engine cuts out. By bog out I mean it starts to lag massivly and just sounds like there is water being taken on somewhere. I can then wait 5 or so minutes and it will start again but it does the same again after a couple of mins if it is raining. As soon as it stops raining it drives fine.

    Any thoughts???

Is your air intake OEM? Or modified in any way?

sounds realy bad recommend you take the car to the mechanic for full check up.. Common sense at if u keep driving it the problem is gonna get worse, therefore costing more $$$ safe then sorry mate

Remove half the CAI piping when it rains, so the air filter sits in the engine bay. Not the best for performance but give it a try and see if you still experience the same problem.

i cant see how water could enter the engine bay.

but from where the cai is usually located in the ek4's water seeps through the front bar under the headlight and sits there where the pod is located.

so yeah put back on the stock box if you got it..

    happening in heavy/constant rain?

    or any kind of rain?

I have an injen cai that is feed by a bellmouth mounted in the bar and i've never had any problems with water entering even when driven during really bad rain
