from reading the posts, no one's actually said whether or not it is an intake for the VTiR or GSi.

you've just come to that conclusion without actually seeing if it fits without modifying.

its not like the VTiR is going to give you extra 10hp neway. Just put it on carefully and if its ok, then yeah, if its not, then exchange it.
