Looking @ a EK Sedan Vti, questions.

There's a Marone EK Sedan Vti on the highway near my place for sale.

Iv been looking at upgrading, it looks very nice, its a manual, and has a modern alpine series head unit and speakers by the looks.

Paint is in nice condition, and has rather ugly mags, but all can be fixed.

What i was wondering is, with 240,000km, is the engine on its way out? What problems could come along with the running components in the near future? Also, i saw it makes 96kw in the vtec on the page, hows that compared to the 4th gen preludes *which i was also looking at*, been a civic im guessing it has great aftermarket performance support?

^^ thats the car, sorry for the pic quality.

That's not an ek, it's an eg.
My sister has one exactly like that and it goes really good.
As long as the car has been regularly serviced and taken care of the k's doesn't really matter. The Honda engines can last a long time.

240 000km is nothing on a well maintained Honda, however if its been neglected there could be some issues, nuthing major though. have the car checked out by a mechanic to be sure.

As ECU-MAN said, if its been well maintained you shouldn't have many if any dramas!

    pics too blurry to tell...

in terms of how it'll go against a gen 4 prelude, it'll beat it. most gen 4 ludes already have atleast 250,000k's on the clock anywayz so their motors are getting on...

just ask about service history, check for the usual things like oil leaks, worn belts/spark plug leads/, dirty as fark engine bay... that'll give you some indication as to how the car was maintained. take it for a drive and if it seems smooth, no CEL light, vtec kicks in at 5,200ish rpm, no pinging noises, then you're on a good thing..
