    i just had my timing belt done!!! paid $70 for a OEM honda belt, $30 OEM rocker cover gasket n OEM $24 spark plug seals! and $100 for labour from a qualified honda mechanic!!! this is on a DOHC VTEC

    Why indeed, nah man i might build one up that way i can keep the car on the road and i don't have to take the engine out to do it. Makes sense????

    as i just read a timming belt an OEM honda can be bought for under $80 ?

    then its the labour sigh

    then plug seals + rocker cover gasket correct ?

    btw im poor got given the civic as a gift so ya

    yum timing belt, rocker cover gasket and labour
    and optional water pump too. (saves onl labour while getting timing belt changed)

    Yup!!

    My water pump died one week after my Timing belt change

    Cost the same twice to change it...

    hello ozhonda ppl!
    this thursday i will be changing my timing belt to a new one at K mart autos :S
    ma mates told me that i shouldnt trust them installin a timing belt kit to ma car!
    if so shud i buy a different timing belt for my car instead of using what K mart autos supplied to install on mine?
    and also while the engine is out to change the timing belt. what else shud i get check or change?
    they quoted me $182 bux for the timing belt kit and $320 for labour cause it costs 3.5 hours apparently :S! is der any place in brisbane that can do it cheaper???

    sorry guys im noob at cars ay!

    hmm my car has a empty log book, about to hit 120K kms, should change timing belt to be on safe side i guess?
