Thread: idle problem

    idle problem

    Rev sits at 1100rpm when i just start the car, wen it gets warm up it sits at 1500rpm, its doesnt hunt or anything, the rev just sits high

    Anyone know what the problem is?

    Have you changed ANYTHING at all before the idle has changed, have you cleaned your IACV valve yet?

    nothing at all man, tb and iacv are clean. Its not hunting man, the rev is just sitting high

    If the iacv is stuck or sticky it can cause the revs to sit high, it does not only cause the revs to hunt, do the revs ever drop to a normal level?

    it doesnt do it randomly, wen it gets warm the revs goes up

    Have you tried an ecu reset? is this ur vti-r your talking about? can you tell me what happens when you turn on ur AC once the car is warmed up.

    car doesnt have air con
    lol

    reset the ecu plenty of time, what will happen if i unplug the iacv?

    try it out, i think it will drop the idle unless as i stated before it is stuck or sticky. but give it a go.

    check the ignition timing 1st

    Have you tried un plugging it once the car is warmed up and let us know what happenes, it u got the time pull it apart and give it a clean, im sure there is a few podts and diy posts on how to remove clean and reinstall.
