I think you are going to get a variety of answers here. Both are good cars to mod. In my opinion it all comes down to the individual.

As I understand the eg is lighter, but the ek is a more modern chassis. Parts are readily available for both models (although the eg does have the advantage of having parts that are interchangable with dc2 parts). Personally I prefer the ek due to it being more modern and its shape, but really I think it is a personal preference.
See a good post? Give it a PQ point.

Depends on how much you are willing to pay for a car.

    ek4 (vti-r's) are roughly 12-16k these days.
    eg5 (vti) roughly 6-8k.

a question no one can answer..its like asking whats the best colour or best number..its personal preference.

however, in terms of me..i like EK, since its newer, better interior and facelift EK ftw

lol. its all depends which model you choose. as in if you choose and EG you have breeze, gli, vti, si and some other variants. while EK has cxi, gli, vti, vti-r etc

all the variants will offer either different performance characteristics such as diff brakes and engine or accessories like interior electrics etc etc

the EK vti-r come's factory with the B16a in there which imo is the better engine then the rest of the choices, unless you get the import EG6 which is the jap spec EG which also comes with the B16A but being japspec its tiny bit more potent

make your choise and spend your cash

Depends what you are comparing. Neither base models are quick.

    well if you're comparing a
eg vti to a ek vtir

there would be a pretty big difference in performance wise..

im sure there's plenty of b16a haters out there.. but IMO theyre still a great motor to mod. maybe because everyones so concentrated on power to weight and conversions and totally disregard the b16a all together maybe because of cost wise and bang for buck i guess..

stock for stock EK vtir owns any stock au EG.

depends on your plans for the car..

any other models of the EG and EK si/gli/cxi and so on are probably very similiar in power and performance.. not that great.

such a bad question to ask, but depends on budget, personal preference to shape, are you doing it up for bling, race, JDM Spec, USDM spec, etc etc. Then you have to think do you want a four, three or two door. Have a look at a few of your mates, see what you fancy, it's one of those things you'll have to decide on yourself. One is not better than the other, they're equally as good imo, my 2c anyways
