turbo rebuild

just wondering.
Been told that a turbo needs a thrust bearing changed.
Anyone know if you can do this without an entire rebuild?

Also anyone know how much it costs?
its a GT2871R - ball bearing

i got quoted yesterday from gcg for that turbo gt2871r
service, starts at $650 including seals and bearings, if theres anything broken then thats on top
