May need Greddy V-manage to control VTC?
I wonder what the yield for Ultimate if tune stock engine only.

Does, fuel, ignition, Vtec...

Delivers pretty much the same result as the e-manage for less $
How much would the Haltech cost from you Adrian, inc.tuning etc.all up?

yes... greddy v-manage will control VTC...

So if you have other cams like our good buddy justin, then you really need VTC or you wont maximise the gains?Or are we talking minor KW here?
Also in what way is the new haltech like the Emanage Ultimate? I thought the Haltech was just an interceptor not like the emanage in terms of relearning...

where'd you hear that from, it shouldn't cause it's a piggyback system.
unless the piggyback system blocks any signal returning to the stock ECU of the Cruise controls.

VTC seems to be where the biggest gains are seen in the k-series... especially if you go after market cams, 45degree of VTC and correct tuning of it makes big power!
lol im only running stock K24 cams

wont loose anything... cruise control works fine...

The VAFC2 only controls fuel,
It inadvertantly changes the ignition timing a little too...
But has no direct control.
The Haltech does & it works well.
As mentioned previously, the VAFC2 can only monitor the VTC...
For some unknown resason, but it cannot affect it.
A greddy V-Manage can control VTC & nothing more.
It can be used together with an E-Manage for conrol of both fuel, ignition & VTC.
But this is a prety expensive option...

Are you sure about the VTEC control? From what I read on the haltech website and the interceptor manual there was no mention of VTEC control...

If you're in the market for an emanage or Haltech,
We're not talking massive gains.
If you want standalone ECU results, you pretty much need to get one.
The Haltech is similar to the Emanage in that the end result is the same.
Sure, the way it works is different.
But with the drop in the Aussie dollar, the Haltech has a cost advantage.
NB: For both Haltech & E-Manage, moving to larger injectors & cams is really not a good idea. Though you can make it work, it's not ideal particuarly at part throttle where the std O2 sensor is doing it's thing.
So IMO, if you're going to go that far. You're better using a proper stand alone ECU that can do everything.
Bare in mind going this way has downside too appart from cost.

I know... & the instructions say it's not recommended...
But the ability is there & it works...
You need to add a relay & configure the output, but it's no biggie.
100% the interceptor does VTEC

with emanage you can force the stock ECU into 'open' or 'closed' loop
for tuning or power purposes...
plus you can set your own a/f target for the car to hit whilst in 'closed loop'
