well in your case. its definately a upgrade because its going to be more practical. evo has the performance of a sports car and still maintaining the presence of a family sedan. with reliability. they are both japanese built cars. ones obviously newer than the other. so its roughly the same. anyways denny, you might as well buy a evo. your going to spend money & effort modding up your civic to look and feel like a sports car so why not spend the effort and money towards a real sports car. just my 2 cents anywayz. good luck with it bro

For a daily... i'd definately go with the Civic, for fuel efficiency, and a chilled ride. Also reliablility and costs and avaialablilty of parts that may break.

But overall, the EVO is a MUCH better car in terms or performance.

how "unreliable" do you guys think of 2001 EVO VII with 35k-ish kilometers on it? Will it become "junk" in 2-3 years?

The only thing that could possibly be a downgrade from a Civic is quite literally, a piece of poo.

its all depends how ur driving style are.

Young in heart, daring and like to do stupid crap
FD - last long as more reliable
EVO - Will break to piece after 1-2 years

    Matured drive, sensible, hardly trash
EVO is you choice - sporty, Fast, 4 Doors but you loose your comfy n fuel economy
FD - Luxury, slower than evo, drive in style! good fuel eco! and still have warranty LOL!

make your mind! is your choice.

Wouldn't call either an FD Civic or a Evo, stylish. Both have crappy interior. New FD interiors rattle and shit. Build quality of the FD is quite crap. However, the actual Chassis is beautiful.

Evo is more fun and raw end of the day. It won't fall apart after a few years. Get the Evo.
