yeap... Champ, yeah, please help look up for the phone number of the place in WA that sells genuine honda parts for me? Thanks and rock on

depending on you service history (ie your car is always serviced at a honda dealership), it increases/decreases ur chances of things getting fixed afta your warranty has expired. (ofcourse within reason)

also, that place, its not honda parts, its just the complete compressor, so dont get your hopes up :P

They should.but If they don't push for HA supplying the parts and you pay for labour.that's normally what they do with repairs outside of warranty and covered under goodwill.

    interesting
It should be the thermal fuse that is inside the compressor clutch. But it is odd that it has failed. Usually the compressor explodes first instead. Usually it is Hoden cars which have the thermal fuses fail first before the compressor.

Worthwhile checking out all possible options 1st.Again go to a good AC specialist and see what they've got to say.

One AC place that I will be using in Chatswood for the AC repair on the Astra charges a $40 diagnostic fee to find out where the problem is. Not bad to spend $40 up front so that you know that you are not ripped off by 1000-2000.

    hi, all,
I finally took the euro into the dealer, Yarra Honda this morning
I just got off the phone with them and yes, it's confirmed that the compressor has failed.

It will cost $2000 for a brand new compressor plus compressor clutch whilst the labour would be about the $500 mark.

Pretty damn costly for a 6 year old.

Bear in mind, my extended warranty ended last August (2008). Anyway, my Honda dealer had helped me out and reported that
    1) HONDA Australia is willing to pay the full $2000 for the replacement compressor set
    2) they (the dealers themselves) are willing to pay part of the labour hence I would only pay $200 in total
    3) the job would be done by tomorrow evening.

How's that for a dealer service? As usual, I am well taken care of with every service I do there.

Yep, Yarra Honda in Victoria. In my opinion and experience, they have been ok to me. Cheers.

If you want to send your honda there, send me a PM and I will pass a reference to you.
    Cheers
