Some help with sub and amp

I just got a mono amp and pioneer sub 12" and i installed it in but only one thing my earth wire.. Not sure how it work. And my friends been telling me if i made a hole in the sub box its better flow and would give a better bass.

porting a box is not as simple as cutting a hole. you have to have the hole a certain size and a peice of pipe in it a certain length to tune to a certain frequency which is all dependant on the size of the box and the sub

also your friends are talking about a ported box, dont go thinking you can cut a hole in a box and the sub will crank hard, thats bullshit. it all has to be to specifications of the subwoofer. Another thing, a ported box will be larger than a sealed box just so you know, you'll need a new enclosure if you want to port the box

before taking your friends advice, is your sub even able to be run in a ported box? and if it is.. well, going by what you've said, frankly if i were you i wouldnt even attempt to make a ported box. it sure isnt as easy as cutting a simple hole in the box, like trism said.

every sub can run a port.
professionally they need to be computer designed.

wat the hell? lol what does the earth wire have to do anything with the sub port? its liek you got stoned after your earth wire sentence and started talking about sumfin else lol.


all i can probably say from that sentence is.
earth can go anywhere to the body but not straight bak to the battery.
all subs can run a ported box but need to be professionally done.
making a hole doesnt make it sound any better, probably when its on low volumes but you wont get much out of it.
