Thats interesting..... Were they stock rods???

I was researching the possibility of a turbo upgrade for my D and most of what i found was that the rods had an almost power barrier.....

At 220 hp/157kw, the rods were said to break.... and u made 224hp/160kw and they broke....

Are you going for forged rods next time round???

    Guys

She was not tuned for 160wkw!!! that's what DOHC VTec Turbos make with stock internals

She was tuned at 137kw 11psi

That only happened on the dyno after a problem somewhere that caused a big boost spike..

I’m yet to working what exactly caused this but once I get my car back I’ll take a closer look…

Its more than likely at vac hose has come loose…

And yeas the weakest part of the D’s is there tiny little con rods hahah and yes completely stock

there are quite a few B series pushing 200kwatw on stock internals.
B series bottom ends are alot tougher

Yeh maybe this wasnt toda's fault. Quite common for overboosting to throw a rod, probably hit about 14psi. Too much timing, too much force caused by the long R/S ratio.

Two turbos, is better then one.
