Well, if it's anything like the Injen CAI for the DC5, the pod sits facing the front where the brake ducts are, so technically the dirt and water would only be splashing onto the pipe?

If it's facing the wheel, then you'll just have to clean/change your filter more often.

it will get dirty quickly ...
and its not the best having it exposed if a cop trys to see where the pod sits ..
but aslong as you dont saturate the pod in a puddle of water and then throttle ..
    should be fine..
if your scared of this ... the cheapest solution is a hydroshield .. which works as a sock for the pod.

i have a vtir with a cai aswel.. with no splash guard it sits inbetween the right front wheel and the bar. it hardly gets dirty and no water gets sucked up either. the plastic under guards are enuff for protection, water only splashes on the pipe
