    CU2 Euro Luxury 09 Auto

JUst bought new Car, need help with mods

hi guys. im a uni student and i just bought my very first car last week.
honda accord euro luxury! 09 model in volcanic grey.

im very excited. ive been lurking on these forums for months reading up eveyrthing you guys have been posting. and now that i finally have my own euro i want to make it look purrtty (and "rice" as some of u call it)

my problem is that im a total car noob. i understand that theres a noob forum, but my question is more specific for euro. forgive me if i posted incorrectly.

where do i actually get body kits and where can i go in the sydney area to install them?

i understand some of you use ebay, but other sites you guys use always seem to be american or even japanese. i dont really want to import anything and especially not japan at the moment (exchange rate lolz). is there anything locally that a noob like me can easily and afforbably get kits?

im specifically after the mugen body kit. although the posts ive been reading about it seem to be quite old. im not sure if its still suitable for the 09 model cause the stock looks way different from some of your ones.

my second question is, do i just go to any random mechanic and they can fix me up and install eveyrhting? im a bit paranoid about being ripped off and im also worried about how long it will take cause i dont wanna be without my car for very long. any reccomendations for places to go around sydney would be great

i dont really need performance mods cause its just my everyday car to get from A to B, but i want it to look awesome hehe.

anyway, if anyone could point me in some right directions id be really greatful

thanks for taking the time to read my post.

There is stuff all available for the CU2 euro.

Mugen has a kit and an exhaust.
Eibach has some lowering springs available now.
Tein have some coil overs coming out soon.
I don't know of anything else out.....

If you want these things, it is going to cost you heaps. Some of the traders on here might be able to help you source parts.

Nice choice of car, congrats on your purchase Most smash repairers will install/paint bodykits if your planning to supply the kit (ie. ebay/trader), so just walk right in an ask, remember to ask around prices tend to vary.

no point modding unless your made of money for the CU2 since it's a fairly new car, parts will cost an arm and a leg....as the AUD still sucks.

    - Most smash repairers can do a job on installing kits, so find your local or get referred by members on here on who to go to.
    - Bodykits - will depend on what brand etc you get will also depend on fitment.
NOTE: All aftermarket kits will have fitment problems just depending on how good your installer is to make it look good.

My mate does not recommend buying carmate stuff because it's crap. <-- side note.

Depending where you go will depend on the price.
Cheaper may not always be the better option.

Bodykit you can install yourself if you want but if you do a dodgy job yourself then it's your own loss. As i myself was too scared to do it incase i fk'd it up. <--- this is full kit as in full bumper replacements on CL9 (NOT lip kit which is easier)

Suspension (coilover) install --> looking around $250-350 depending where you go
Bodykit - can range from 900+ and greater
Wheels - buy from local traders on OH as they have legit and replica jap wheels unless you want to go chromies which Tempetyres/Ozzytyres or Talebtyres are your friends.

    Just my 2c.

But go for it as Type R positive has said.

I think you refer to the 'old' CL9 chassis... 'old' posts would likely refer to 'old' cars... look at threads with [CU2] in the title, and use the search function in the forum for other bits n pieces to your car. http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/search.php

no one told you to read it @ 8am in the morning!!

OP - you can try searching on USA websites about 09 TSX and see if they have any mods out there available for the CU2.

no one told you to post at 7.30am... then again i just saw that the replies started coming in at 5am... starting to wonder what people's day jobs are.
    -----------
    for OP:
http://www.heeltoeauto.com is a specialist tsx/euro website in USA...
while the AUD is schizerhausen atm, by looking at the range available on the site you can kind of get an idea of what's available for each part of your car. having said that, the CU2 section is a little lacking... you might have to go with Honda genuine bodykit and acessories haha.
heeltoe does ship to australia but shipping is dear because of AUD. not as in 'dear, me' but as in f***ing expensive.

by the way your car is known as a 2009 Acura TSX CU2 (2nd generation TSX) in the US of A. correct me if im wrong

I think in a couple of month start just doing your suspension mod by changing the springs 1st that is oredy changing the looks of your car and ride comfort n maybe change your wheels to bigger size 19" at least make it looks luxury as possible

    thanks for the replies guys

i was thinking this morning while driving that the car has REALLY sensitive handling

im already used to it, but normally speaking is that a good thing?

also regarding the suspension, i feel absolute every tiny little bump on the road.
i used to drive my parents lexus and that one had some really loose springs or something, cause the ride was realll smooth and i cud barely feel anything.
when most ppl change their coils etc is it to make it more like my current ride or the less sensitive "looser" old ride?

also, ive heard of Type-R, but what in the world is Euro-R? i saw some "euro-r" front lip mods. i think thats wat i want
im satisified with my car but i just want the front lip to be a bit wider, to have a bit of flare and a bit lower. if i was going to do only one mod, it would be to add a front lip. but according to the manufacturer the lip i have would have to be removed first. and that lip also "must" come with the fog lights.
i dont want to remove the fog lights lol

    *edit*

this is what it says on the honda website

"Front Aero Bumper Smooth, dynamic and seamlessly incorporated into your Accord Euro's aerodynamic curves, this sports bumper accentuates the car's performance-inspired beauty.Applicable for all Accord Euro variants. Front Aero Bumper, Front Under Spoiler and Front Styling/Protection Trim Set cannot be fitted simultaneously. If fitting Front Aero Bumper to a base model, the accessory Fog Light Set must also be fitted."

the 09 model came with the aero bumper installed already, i just wish there is a lip i can attach onto it without removing it

^^^ I dont think there's EURO-R version of the CU2 yet... so the one you saw might be CL9 (previous model) so it definitely wont fit the CU2

    euro-R = type-R

coilovers will make it more stiffer and you'll feel every single bump but 10x worse. --> depends on which brand of coilies otherwise it can be pretty comfy
