    By my guess.
    It is.

The only difference between the 96 and 98+ is the front bumper, headlights, indicators, rear bumper and updated rear tail lights.

    same dimensions Im assuming.

no, i mean pre-facelift & facelift mirrors are different, regardless of folding or not.
Facelifted mirrors have a grove on the plastic side ( opposite side of mirror), where as pre-facelifted mirrors are smooth & flat on the plastic side.

very hard to describe without pictures, but its very easy to tell the difference.

Are we talking JDM at all? Coz I have a '96 & '99 DC2 in the garage and the mirrors both have the moulding which protrudes a little at the front.

the doors from a jdm car do not have the intrusion bar for safety where the Australian one does as its compulsory

the door will fit but like kiki said it may need to be modiefied to comply with the australian standerds as it does not provide the correct strength pass as we have here in aus, as far as the mirrors go they will both fit jdm n aus , aus does have a lil lip on the back of the mirror as the jdm are smooth and rounded thanks if u want pictures of the mirrior i have pics of both but dnt no how to post thm
