I bought new key + remote and honda reprogrammed both for free.

They initially wanted to charge 50 to program key and remote so i took it to those lock smith places (cost 5 buks to program) but the key is like locked only honda dealer can program them, but they didn't charge coz it didn't work.

So took it back to honda and they did it for free...

is it the key that you need to program only? what if you have an alarm do you have to worry about the remote?

i dont think they program the key. They reprogram the ecu to accept the key. The ecu can hold 4 keys in memory.
