    JDM DC5R

    Integra TypeR support

I should imagine every owner of a TypeR whether it be a DC2/5 have experienced varying forms of customer support from aftermarket traders as well as from Honda themselves.

I have run into an expensive issue lately in reguards to my DC5R, and have found all the aftermarket traders alot more open to helping you with part/s needed. On the otherhand i am pretty shocked at the bs customer service Honda have for their own bloody cars, its laughable. Not only myself hunting down parts, but specialist mechanics chasing parts from Honda are left for days (which i am dealing with now) without any help or returned calls.. "we'll call you" kinda classy setup.

Now as i have been informed by Honda (as we all know) the TypeR's are a limited build so parts are alot harder to find (mainly have to be shipped from Japan) then cars like civics and accords which is due to the larger numbers produced and sold here.

Unfortunately i can honestly say "Honda" themselves dont impress me one little bit. As soon as they hear it's a TypeR its almost like they dont want to know you, they give you the run around. So far as even mentioning JDM to them, they just carry on like a bunch of pork chops that shut you down saying, "nah mate, sorry dude, we dont deal with them at all hey". No amount of trying to talk common sense could bring them back in to being logical about it, by explaining the "little" differences the JDMs have on the AUDMs, as they should already know.

What im saying is, all the aftermarket traders that have helped all of us out so far, thats whats appreciated, customer support. As for Honda, and the lack of care, they need to get checked, lack of support for their own vehicles (TypeR's) is pitiful.

What are your views/experiences guys, it would be interesting to hear input from others.

Your argument is totally hopeless, when you say "Honda is useless" it's very dumb of you to generalise like that. It's probably just the LOCAL honda YOU go to, I know the one I go to in Sydney are VERY good.
They always call me back within 24 hours if I'm chasing up a part, they always go out of their way to order a part in for me if I can provide product codes.

Aftermarket traders are single shops, you saying 'Honda is bad' is basically saying that every individual Honda dealer in Australia sucks, which is plainly not the case.

and besides, there is no reason that Australian Honda dealerships should know anything at all about JDM models, because the don't sell them

I've been to several honda dealers for purchases and never had issues.

I think they didn't return your call because they thought you were a c0ck, which you sound like at the moment on the forums.

I hear that. My DC2 has broken down twice. Both times it was the bloody after market immobiliser's fault!!

EDIT: Oh yeah and once my top tank cracked, but the car was still drivable, even if there was a lot of steam.
