FEO is made for Honda to Honda's Specs for Australian Conditions. I wouldnt belive every thing you hear in the media regarding testing.
who conducted the test, any ideas. sounds interesting though.

I've used the 10-30 FEO oil and i have to say it is very smooth. You have to remember that if they made it for the Type Rs then it would have to be pretty decent wouldn't you think? And yes they sell it at Honda dealers for $27 still cos i brought it about 2mths ago there. 60w are good for Turbos Dnation, and not all of us own one.

Hey Mr.Limbo, its Dave mate... You're just too patriotic to Honda Limbo... First it was toyota, now Honda...
:P
Im not saying the stuff is bad dude, but everyone I've ever met, who tried either mobil 1 or Castrol R after a normal oil, were very impressed with the added smoothness...
RE: the comment on made on this oil for TypeR's Aussie standard??.. Are you sure mate? 0-30W rating is hardly Aussie standard.. 30W is way too thin for our harsh summers.. I would be thinking it was made for Jap climates coz its cold can get cold up there... Ideally, a 50-60 rating are the best for Aust i would think?!??
RE: The test, it was a Zoom magazine who did the article.. They tested the wear of each oil after 1000km & 5000km. Mobil 1 had the best wear, only wearing 3% after 5000km (most of the others had about 7-10% wear). Additionally they dynoed the Integra with each oil. Castrol R and Mobil 1 gave more than 5hp peak power over most other oils and had a better power band also.. Next time you come over dude, I'll let you read the article..
I'm not saying the FEO stuff is bad coz in the end, it'll still protect your engine if u maintain it properly.. Its better than most of the other mineral stuff, but synthetic will always be in another league. If its performance u have in mind, its hard to go past pure synthetic.. In the end, u get wat you pay for, so if this FEO honda oil is less than HALF the price of most synthetic oils, that should speak for itself...
I dont know about u guys but I worship both mobil 1 and Castrol R oils and use them religiously.. Its only an extra $20ish per oil change but the short-long term benefits are aplenty.
Dont be a tight a55 Hao, buy the best you can coz u'll need it to beat my B16A... hahaha
JK
My 2cents..

been driving on it the last few days, engine runs smooth at low revs
but try to floor the car at high revs just doesnt feel the same as Castrol R or Mobil 1 etc.
oh well its a once off since I got it for free.
I found this on asia.vtec.net
http://asia.vtec.net/topics/oil1.html
I wonder if Honda Aus gets the same oil as Honda Japan

Oils
Hey Dave i'm sure you will notice that the Honda seem to be running lighter internals than the Toyotas. This is prob. the reason for the 10-30w as a standard for the entire honda range. Like i said the Honda oil is pretty good and it is also used on the Type R. Will let you know when i run the Castrol R next if there is any difference, but i don't see anything bad in the oil.
As with running your car we'll see when and IF your car gets off the ground.

oils
btw.. for those of you who wish to seem which oils are actually performing goto this site..
www.themotoroilsite.com i've just downloaded the oil bible and it has a range of oils which have been independantly tested and gives each a rating. Also test the different viscosity of each oil against each other.
I'm gonna try amsoil next if i manage to get my hands on it. From the Amercian sites it seems to kick both the castrol R and the Mobil 1

10w60?? wtf??
but i agree with the others though all 10w30s and the FEO are smooth... but going down to 5w30 and i burn oil in vtec in summer as sivic suggested... it is better in winter though

That Honda stuff was one of 15-20 oils tested.. Overall it came second last, just avoiding last place who was taken by standard shell helix mineral oil u can buy at woolies for $15!! ($12 when on sale!!)
The top 5 winners were;
Castrol R 10-60W
Mobil 1 0-30W
Mobil One 5-50W
Royal Purple 10-60W
Amsoil
(All Synthetic..)
If you have a revvin machine or turbo, dont settle for anything less than synthetic.. YOu get what you pay for, and for only $50-60 for 5L, its well worth the $$$$
I recommend Castrol 10-60W or Mobil One 10-60W and most ppl here would agree.. Dont buy the 0-30 stuff coz the aussie weather is too hot for it!!
my 2cents
Why 0-30 is not suitable for our aussie weather?

the lower the numbers the generally for lower ambient temps.
Thicker for hotter

Why lower viscosity oil not suitable for hotter ambient temperature?
