Reason why people "flame" you is because personally they've been there themselves and have realised that it indeed makes the car look tacky and wants to advise any other car modders to avoid doing it. It's like when someone says to you "dont touch that, it's hot" and you go ahead and touch it anyway makes you seem like a douche and thus, people will start flaming. same shit....
