    Question vti or not

the other night I was out with some friends when I spotted a EK coupe, I was talking to the owner (a real hunny I might add) when i asked if she liked the v-tec, she told me that it wasnt V-tec, i figured she jst didnt know what v-tec coz she only had the car a couple of weeks, so I looked under the bonnet and much to my suprise she was right, it only had the D16y.

I thouht that all coupes were vti, has anybody else seen one of these??

I have the d16y8 engine in my car.
It is sohc vtec, but it's still vtec....

I assume it's 96-98 model if you say EK? Check the plate thingy it should say EJ8? Then it's the vti

check here, very good table of engine info etc:

The 1997 VTi Civic Coupe's here sold locally came with the d16y8 as someone has mentioned already. It doesn't say "VTEC" on the engine cover but its a SOHC VTEC.
