ya, upgrade to aftermarket HU with std JDM double din will be easier!

There are illustrated plans on how to wire up an aux cable to the connections at the rear of the standard head unit. Will cost about $10 for the required materials, less if you have the appropriate cable already. Hardest bit is physically popping off the head unit trim. Otherwise you need little dexterity or electrical know-how.

i remember i refer to the guide in ausjazz to setup my aux input last time.
but ausjazz server is down at the moment
i make a few of those aux cable last time, i remembered i still have one left, left me flip through my boxes at home...

Very large pain in arse to make an AUX cable. Once you buy a double DIN fitment kit and get a normal headunit, you'll find the Jazz is actually quite good for audio. Just make sure you deaden the cr@p out of the front doors.

hey dude still needing a hand on aux port. i got mine done DIY. Just go dick smith and buy a female socket (the type designed to screw onto a flat plate) its 45 cents. if you noe much about desktop computers you should noe of the plugs which connect the hdd, on, light, power switch onto a computer. grab 3 of these plugs off any old comp (make sure they have wires running off the ends) go and solder the ends of the wires onto the plug. next you get a drill and drill a suitable hole into a desired mounting location. (for mine i put it just beneath the centre console, under the temp control. Mount the female audio socket and connect the 3 plugs onto the back panel of the cd player. If you live in Brisbane come by and i'll show you what i mean.

agree, stock head unit is quite good for SQ. i had dyn fronts and idq10 running and the front stage gave v nice sound. i never got a chance to fully deaden the doors. i'll consider that.

yea, especially with the ge which came out, the price of a gd just dropped significantly. I'm still looking to sell it though, you should buy it and have a jazz collection - red n blu ftw! :P i took the audio system out and is currently running nicely in my room. I might keep an eye out for a tru tech amp and give dyn 3 ways a try in a jazz. not ne time soon but maybe towards the end of the year.
