u have an s300?? use it... run a base map and go to the 'tps' tab and in the middle of the window you can see a min and max tps reading...
with the ignition on (engine not running) press read on the min tps and in the white box a number close to 0 will automatically fill. then depress the accelerator pedal to its maxim and press read on the max tps and in the corresponding white box a number cloe to 100 will automaticaly fill. then upload to your s300 and see if that fixes your problem.
can you tell me if this is a similar or even better the same problem? you hold the accelerator pedal aiming to hold the rpm @ 2000 but instead of the engine holding at 2000 it bounces up and down between your idle, say 900 and 2000 rpm continously until you release the accelerator pedal??i think the tps has been replace b4 but the prob b4 was @ 1800 - 2000 the engine would just jump up n down like i was a learner driver bunny hopping all up the road
if you have that problem then i dare say its not your tps sensor, its the wiring between the tps and the ecu. my inference is that because the tps uses voltage to communicate to the ecu, a very minute source of voltage might i add, when you solder the wires you change or disrupt the voltage flow between the tps and the ecu resulting in an incorrect signal to the ecu.
however there is a fix, which is above using the s300 to "cover up" the flaw.
another way to tell if your ecu aint getting the right signal is if the min and max signals are very off. e.g. min is -5% and max is 90% obviously means your ecu aint receiving the correct signal..if it were it'd be min=1% and max=99% or so. but the beauty of the s300 is that the reason why you take those readings is to let the s300 know the correct mins and maxs and it adjusts accordingly to manage the engine properly.
