    About 1 1/2 weeks.

But that includes sanding my car aswell, mirrors, sideskirts etc at about 7-8 hours a day and spraying it with primer, and taping everything up.

    It's not rocket science.

Here's my front bar I did just today, only 1 coat of base coat on it!! Still needs 2 more coats, 3 coats of clear, cut back and polish!! All off the gun.

all good and well to try save some cash and do the prep urself but u really need to be careful doing that, alot of places dont like it and to the naked hand and eye it might seem flat but to a panel beater its probably attrocious!! and really depending on what colour your painting it to how bad ur going to see any kind of dent.
like dont do black if your going to prep it yourself!! the amount of work that went into my car bcuz i wanted it black, lets just say (my bf is a panel beater) im extremely lucky he loves me to eternity and longer (he was certainly not happy about me wanting black, it has to be perfect) otherwise it would have gone another colour
Go around and just get some quotes, find our what brand of paint they use, try stick with ppg, sikkens arent too bad, try keep away from cheap nasty like lesonal
ur quote will depend on what brand of paint they use, ppg is more expensive purely because its better paint!
at the end of the day u get what u pay for!!

All the materials including compressor and gun cost me about $490.

It's a 24 litre 2 hp air compressor!!! So nothing special at all, not even decent LOL, it's half decent I suppose.

It's all in the gun but man, HVLP gravity fed gun.

I just put on the first coat of base coat straight off the gun, it has some shine which is preety awesome for acrylic!

No DIY yet kleo, I am yet to finish the car, I don't want to make a DIY when I'm half done
