Hey buddy, sorry to hear about that.
Will they allow you to get a repair quote after this has happened?? if so, go to Honda and tell them every part that needs replacement, and quote that to AAMI, then ditch them.

grr i hate this stuff, i have to get my car repaired soon by just cars and i'm not looking forward to finding a repairer!!
i've been through same situation before with nrma, the business was approved by them too!!
they repaired the car but left it with squeeky suspension and a rattle noise, so we took it back to nrma and they sent us back to them to have it checked over, they claimed it to be a loose bolt..... wtf anyway 2 mnths later suspension was still creaky and that "loose bolt" noise came back. nrma told us to take it back again, but seriously what for, they ****ed up in the start whats to say they wont ruin it again!!
I'd talk to AAMI and say that after the experiance you've been through you refuse to ever take your car back to that repairer again and that it's their liability to repair your car to the best of standards, why the hell would we pay insurance for if our cars are going to come out looking worse for wear!!??!
I'm not sure how much you pay for insurance/ excess or whatever, but my insurance with just cars for my lude is 2300/yr and my excess is 2100, if i was in your situation, at fault or not i'd be losing the plot and demanding that my car be fixed PROPERLY considering how much insurance is these days!!
ps good luck with it, they've messed your car up with these ignorant mistakes and hopefull they fix it asap or just give you a new car lol

Sorry to hear about the experiences, as much as I hate Insurance companies, they are ultimately there to help you and it was really the fault of the repairer who fked everything up. I would just demand another repairer.
Also on another note, 2400/2100 for insurance on a prelude?! Wtf is the world coming to!

Wow thats effed up.
Try resolving it with AAMI first, file a report to the insurance ombudsman the same time. If you are unhappy with the result (which you probably will) then contact a solicitor and take it a tribunal (I believe it falls under CTTT's jurisdiction). Be aware that it takes time and a hassle but they will most likely settle to your terms.
Keep in mind, your car could have caught on fire or explode and you could have died.
Also demand they include the AAMI chick from the tv ad for compensation.
-
^^^ lol at aamii chick
but yes flip fire is right, you could have died!!! that was very dangerous and aami should go over who they are certifying as an 'approved' repairer

wow.... another one... when will people learn.
go back to the assessment centre, you will need to book a re-assessment... the original essessor will look over the car, point EVERYTHING out... and if he denies it tell him to put it all in writing and sign it...
Speak to his assessing Supervisor, (his boss) if he doesnt agree then you can either go to the state assessing manager or at that stage tell them you're going to the ombudsman or IEC (usually those three letters ring alarm bells). They have an internal dispute resolution process which ens up in the hands of the state manager, who is a reasonable guy, he should be pretty cool, ive seen him approve the total loss and payout of a car that was in this circumstance... just be persistant... if you can see the overspray you can see it... know what i mean?
Chances are they will repair most of the issues re: runs, dirty paint etc, but they will send it to the same repairer... i dont like this because you dont know what the repairer is doing with your car when they have to pay for it all out of their own pocket... but thats just the way it is... I dont know about your interior...
Do give them a chance, and demand a hire car. Go through the apropriate channels, and if you;re still unhappy go to the Ombudsman at the IEC.
If you need any further advice feel free to send me a PM, i know more about their prcesses than the average person.

i only just had a chance to see the pics, have you tried wiping down your interior, just with a damp rag? just trying to get a feel for how bad it is?

Hey dude. Sorry to hear about the troubles. Had a similar issue a few years back but I was insured with RACQ. Took me over 3 months to resolve...
I'd heed what flipfire & Zilli say, go to the head assessor, the ombudsman and put your words into writing (i.e. a formal letter) to AAMI... but try and ensure you word it with facts - what happened when, what you noticed when, photo's, et al... you want them to help you so make sure you have your dates and times right if you're quoting when you spoke to certain AAMI personnel
Truthfully... after my ordeal I realized if your car hasn't been repaired to standard you shouldn't take the car off-site (i.e. away from the repairer), and should've called AAMI then & there.
Good luck man... u'll need it. Feel free to post up the dodgy repairer... even if it's just so I know of who else NOT to allow touch my car.
FYI: don't try and fix any of the bodgy repairs yourself/get someone else to repair it. It could deem your insurance claim null & void...

WOW my GF just got $670 paid out to her for a TINY scratch on her EK.
dude speak to the insurance company first and if every other avenue fails seek legal advice.
i recommend Gouldson Legal. they work on the "no win no fee" basis. top blokes.

id suggest call today tonight or acurrent affair,
dead serious,
theyll get it sorted

there was already a topic on aami repairs on accurrent affair or today tonight, I remember watching it like last year.
anyway, from my experience with AAMI service has always been good and easy. Got our family prado bumper fixed up and was a very simple phone call with booking made. did a great job.
The bad point is that AAMI will skimp on costs by choosing repairers that have the lowest costs. So basically its the repairer at fault, as they arent doing a very professional job.
