Euro luxury is using D2S HID. You can only find the bulb inside the housing, the ballast is under the housing. OEM HIDs quite expensive so it's better just buy HID kit. It's only $74 in ebay. Or if you want a good one buy the eagle eye HID kit from www.plasmagarage.com. They use Phillips ballast like the OEM kit. I change my D2S bulb to 8000K and i bought it from plasma garage. One of the bulb just blown 2 weeks ago after 4 years.
beside the colour difference, does the 8000K 'look' further than the stock one? much further?
Thanks for the info...
Again in terms of replacing the bulb, do I need to disconnect the battery, And is there much difference in terms of colour between the 4300K and the 6000K, I like the colour that the Chrysler 300C lets out, and is trying to get that effect.

Well I have no idea but you never had to take the battery off in the past so I wouldn't think you have to now, just make sure your lights aren't on

take it off just to be safe... a zap from the ballast wouldnt be the nicest thing in the world lol
as for colour temp... 6000k looks hawt as! personally my favourite colour temp... and you still get pretty good light about, something you loose when you go up to 8000k...
The ballast on my Euro '03 just died and this looks like the place to ask for advice.
As far as I see, I have three options: -
1) Pay for a genuine replacement (I've been quoted $700)
2) Find an after market equivalent (Is this possible? Can anyone recommend one that matches the OEM?)
3) Rip out the factory ballasts (and maybe bulbs) and chuck in a new set
