problem with 98' type r lip (EK)

hey fellas, i just recently purchased a replica 98' type r front lip for my ek4. its the fat style type r one that hugs the front bumper a bit.

i tried to fit it on my ek4 couple of days ago and it didnt really fit on. cant explain the fitment but it just wasnt a straight fit. i asked one of my mates brother who has a ek4 with the same lip. he said he had to customize his lip to fit the bumper due to replica's are not straight fit.

is this true? if so, where do i go get it done? a panel beater.

    thanks.

what doesn't fit about it exactly?
but yes.. replica's probably aren't the best fit being that they are replica's
panel beaters would be your best bet

the the ends of it seems too short, the part where it hugs the bumper, theres still gap left that it missed.

just using force to put it on pretty much doesnt feel 'exact fit' u noe waht i mean?

well thats the thing with casting and moulding.. you always lose a bit of volume which has obviously happened since the ends won't meet up
it's generally well known that the ends on replica's are always too short or bent on the wrong angle and will split while installing or soon after(you could heat it up and bend it out a bit i guess but you run the risk of heating the lip too much and ruining it)

    dont buy aftermarket lips?
there chat, after a period of time it will break anyways?
as for oem lips they are abit more expensive but will last u untill u crash the car?
the money u willl waste going to a panel beater would be as much as buying another lip
    gl wit the fitment

my panel beater just heated my lip onto the bumper, it will fit, they'll make it fit

mine was an abs plastic item (same material as stock)

should be around $150 to mend, bend, heat, paint it up and have it installed
