i dun feel for the current one but next one seems a ripper. and the beauty for VAG cars are you can flash the ECU (for <$2k) and instant power gain.
Kaz (steven), in order to change the rear parker lights, yes you need to remove all the internal plastic covers (on the inside of the hatch door). Starting from the top of the rear window, by yanking that out before removing the side plastic covers off. Then, finally you need to unscrew/remove the two plastic clips on the bottom of the hatch (you will see them as you lift the hatch door up) and then yank that plastic cover off.
Once that is all done, you can see the two parker light leads and it just takes a matter of patience and time to reach in and twist the rear parker housing out to change the parker lights.
