WASABI HERES A NOTE THAT U MUST FOLLOW, and no my caps lock isnt broken.. the paint has to dry off completely LIKE leave 24 hours if u have it before you clear coat. I used the clear coat on top like after 3 hours of drying and like the clear coat made the paint run off, and bubble and the clear grabbed onto itself kinda. Here's what happened.

My wheels were painted matt black. No clear coat and no chipping yet. Just make sure you prep the wheels right.

Fine sand it with wet/dry sand paper. Primer say a good 2-3 coats then the black. Let it set overnight and you'll be sweet.

Wasabi, you'll need around 4 coats. I let my wheels set about 10-15mins after each coat before applying the next.

Sitta It doesn't peel if its prepped right. I had my other set painted black and did 2 mountain runs, alot of carwashs and gravel carparking with no chipping. This was done for around 1 year or so.

Bumping an old thread, what brand paint would you recommend for gunmetal colour?

I found a brand called duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint but they don't seem to sell it in Australia, abyone know where I can get this from?

Easier to just use brake caliper spray, no primer needed as it has a primer in it, gives great finish ,have done it quite a few times never peals

    Yes!!!

Read the thread. Since you are painting you need to prime the surface but more importantly it seems worth while to sand before priming!!
Anyone selling a black ek1 facelift Hood (OEM)?? PM ME

yea i suggest u sand down the surface with 600 grit first, then primer it then sand it again with 1200, primer again then sand with 1200 then start the painting.
