mate from what i know, it just depends whether they have new models coming in. Like the new 08/09 r1 and 09 CBR1000RR ABS etc, then they will obviously try and sell 'old stock' asap so they can have more showroom space for the newwer bikes!
really it depends on what bike your looking for and which dealers/private buyers you go to..

If you're looking for jackets etcetera look in the US at places like www.kneedraggers.com, www.denniskirk.com and other well known web retailers. Lots of reduced stuff there!
