I'm putting my car in for service tmr, and I asked what oil they are using. The guy said it is a Valvoline Semi-Synthetic oil that is 'right for my car'.
Now, I remember reading old threads about my car using 'synthetic oil'. Would it be okay to put 'semi-synthetic' oil in?
Make sure that the valvoline oil that they are using is one of these viscosities:
0w-30, 5w-30, 10w-30, 0w-40, 5w-40 or 10w-40.
I went to get my euro service last Thursday at a Honda service centre and like usual I brought my own oil. This time round it was fully synthetic castrol edge 5-30w. According to the service manager Honda Australia don't recommend the use of fully synthetic oil because it burns off too easily and recommended me to use a blended semi-synthetic type next time round.
Yeah ive done it, the washer was slightly bent but yeah, no leaks or anything...
Thanks for the help, and i used 5W-30 castrol edge, the car feels alot smoother, coz i think the car used 5W-50 mobil 1 full synthetic before for some reason o_0
The washer doesn't seal the sump and bolt together. All the washer does is compress as you tighten the bolt so that the threads on the bolt is pushed against the threads on the sump.
