50 - 100 hp nos kit on d16y8
hey guys no one can answer me on civic forums but just wondering
if i can run a 50-100 hp dry shot zex nos system
ive got an after market intake but stock headers and exhaust
would i need to up grade anything to run it , like cams intake manifold?
i wont be using it much just the casual wensday runs and once in a blue moon
cheers guys

with that engine, i think you should give it 1000 hp shot, forget the cams etc. Make sure you take a video though, you will get much pleasure from the 1000 shot. You can buy my dc5r radiator too to help keep it cool. You can stick it anywhere.

its illegal to use or have it connected up on the road but
it would be very interesting to see what would happen
with double the power on the d series motor
do it as is no need for upgrade
-
convert it too a wet shot or get some aftermarket fuel control happening
if u persist with the dry shot, might want to upgrade injectors as well,as honda injectors are generally on the limit as far as these sorts of increases are concerned.
above all get it setup on a dyno with reputable tuner, who can tell u AF's/timing are ok,thats if u have any care for the motor,if not ,just connect & drive.
-
whats the deal with wet shot??
440cc injectors be ok?
was going to do intake manifold
full exhaust
and cam, camshaft work..
and piggy back
i know some guys from insight performance they will do the tuning
lol i no its illegal but if they cant find it its not there
ive seen vids on yout tube and the nos kit seems to be alright for the d motor
to try it would it be ok to use it on stock headers and stock exhaust ??
-
Well,if you do it,don't say you did on here or a cop may be round your house knocking on the door.Yes,they do that crap.

lol i no, dw thats not my car in the pic and i havnt installed nothing yet, its only a small tank illl have a hidden purge so if i do get pulled over quickly release it coz the only thing that makes it illegal is that pressuriezd gas in the boot and that its flamable
-
dry shot adds just nitrous so u need the extra fuel from ecu/injectors.
wet shot adds fuel with the nitrous(generally thru the same nozzle),so generally negates the need for ecu work/injector work.
dont know much about d series engines but u might get away with a 50hp dry shot(my guess, this would be the absolute limit,so,i wouldnt chance it),but anymore & u definitely need the extra fuel work.

Good,sounds like ya onto it

ill go with a turbo setup for your engine they respond excellent to boost, with the vitara nippon pistons, pistons are cheap, rods are cheap, get an ebay kit with crome tune and you have a budget build with excellent power
search hondatech on vitara d series turbo builds
