    Sanding!

    hey evry1 can sum1 tell me wat type of sand paper is best & fast for removing paint form a wing!

    using something like 600grit - 800grit, or just use paint stripper

    i think a wing is similar to a bumper, i used 800-1000 to get off the paint, and 350 to smooth it surface

    350 to get paint off, and 800-1000 to smooth rite???

    I tend to use 400, 600, 800 wet and dry for painted areas, no dust flying around in the air and I believe it makes for a clearner work space. Also for the final final rub down i have used 1200.

    oh, haha, sorry, i just remember i used 3 sanding paper to do it, one to get off paint, than to smooth it,

    The higher the number the finer the grit. You can also use a fine grit (1000+) with water to help smooth out the surface.

    yah... 1200-1500grit wet sanding can be used to pre-polish paint/clearcoat before a buff....
