...would still have a great view of the GTi's tail lights. My mate's got one and it's freakishly quick up in the hills. And his mate has one that's been modified a bit and is faster on the tight twisty stuff.

man if u are thinking about 5TH GEN prelude SI VS VTI-R
you should go VTI-R mate.... 2.2 Vtec engine and it has more torque and power...
but if u could get ur self a 5th gen honda prelude Type S that even Better man...
get one with an OEM lip kit already on it! trust me it looks much better and its cheaper to do it that way, because if you buy the kit new from Honda it is roughly $1400+ and that is unpainted.

im just after some feedback from someone thats driven both... is there much of a difference in power? im not gonna be redlining all the time...prob wont even get upto 5000rpm. but im really tossing up between the 2
whats more fun to drive?? A manual Si or auto VTiR?????
if we were to go back to your original post looking at the key points.
i would say to buy the Manual Si.
1. cheaper price.
2. cheaper to run
3. if your only planning on pushing your car to 5k rpm then you might as well get the Si as it allows you to go to 6.8k (don't quote me on that but it definatly goes past 5k rpm)
4. the most important of all factors is its manual
anyone who drives a manual car would understand and agree that driving a manual car is a lot more fun and a lot less boring and brain dead. you can snap and drop gears... rev/dump all over the place. (gives the left side of your body something to do)
flipside - you will notice less power driving the manual as the auto has VTEC
and it wont sound as good as the VTEC's ROAR! not sure if that bothers you ^_-? but then all your doing with the auto is putting your foot to the floor and hoping the thing picks up revs as fast as possible, no skill involved.
how coem in Sydney, it is extremely rare to find a good vtir with 150K or less with leather seats man. GEEZ..at a decent price, not this 20K DREAMER price.
