    right hand steering rack end

    hi all

got a service done not long ago to clear a defect and when i got the car back, they said that my "right hand steering rack end is screwed" - direct quote

What exactly is this steering rack end and what is the significance of it being "screwed" ?

they refer to your "tie rod end".

It is the direct connection of your steering rack to your knuckle/s , and controls steering to your wheel/s. If it is "rooted" it may be overly tight or loose , and will give innaccurate front toe (alignment) settings.

You fix it by replacing it - easy to do for ay half competent mechanic. You MUST get it fixed tho as it could cause premature tyre wear.
