yeah big 3 battery and alternator would be an ultimate solution, thats why i said it masked the problem. but i did a trunk kit so yeah pretty much all around the boot, not including the plastic areas. it pretty much took care of most of the rattle!...then i put sum blue tack behind the number plate because i noticed it rattled too, thats what you get when you play with alpine x types

sorry if this has been covered before but can someone please let me know:

what size are the speakers F+R? - 6/6.5" Splits/co-ax up front?
what size rear speakers into shelf? - ? 6x9's for a bit of extra bass as i dunno if i wanna run a sub or not?
4ch amp to run all the speakers?
what size speaker wire would be suitable for a half-decent system?

and lastly, what brands should i be looking at?

I think i've covered everything right? - i also need to look into getting a dvd hu as i already have a screen, so altogether i need:
    dvd HU (already have screen)
    double-din fascia kit
    speaker wire
    tweeters
    front splits
    rear speakers
    4ch amp?

amirite? - thanks in advancce for any help!

First thing is you must come up with a budget and also if your going to diy or get it professionally installed.

Speaker sizes are 6.5" pretty sure both front and back. You can still put 6x9's in rear shelf i think but you have to play around, dunno about cutting (unsure on this).

I reckon you should just run a sub. If you have ever had a proper sub in a car you know that you 6x9's will never satisfy.

If you don't have enough for your budget just get some decent front splits and a sub all powered by a 4 channel amp. That's what most car audio places would suggest in terms of smaller budget.

Hey stig have you ever sound deadened a car? Sounds like you have. Since we both from Melbourne maybe we should get together and sound deaden them at the same time.

Ive never done it before so would be good to learn from someone who has :P. Beats paying an installer $800 for whole car i got quoted :O

nah i have never sound deadened a car LOL i was just planning to do it myself, isnt that hard, just grab some dynamat off one of the ebay stores for around $250, i assume we'll need around 2 sets so $500 all up.

then just pull off the front door, slap it on the whole door on both sides, put it back. same thing with the boot lid and the rear shelf i have to figure out, but i think it shouldnt be that hard, just time consuming

was planning to do it once i get all the speakers so i could do the whole thing at once

If you weren't adding a sub then probably would be enough. I would have a look at mobile electronics and check out beginners forum and there are heaps of threads with budget systems which you may help.

When you planning on getting speakers? It is pretty easy but there are small things you just gotta know such as some parts you dont meant to dynamat and also opening apart doors certain ways to do it.

I don't think you will need 2 bulk kits unless you were doing all around the boot and multiple layers. In a bulk kit there are 9 large sheets. Prob need a bulk and possibly at most trunk as well.
