    oil pressure light

    hey guys got b16a head/b18c block and wen i down gear n stop the oil pressure light flashes. anyone know what could cause it? and vtec doesnt hit sometimes

    low oil pressure perhaps?

    check your oil level.

    The light combined with loss of vtec is a good indication of lower pressure. However it could be other things too. The light only comes on at 5psi or whatever, its a good indication when you've basically got no pressure at all, but not good as damage may occur before this comes on. Thats why a proper pressure gauge is very handy. If its still crossing over vtec in the higher rpms, your obvioulsy still getting some decent pressure to activate it, however it does not seem right when its droping out somtimes to. I'd get a gauge and/or get your car checked out by a Mech.

    Check your oil level too, and also test the oil pressure switch.

    yeh oil level seems to be fine.

    check oil pressure then, may be an issue especially with vtec probs.

    It could be a blockage

    have you checked if theres sludge in the motor? numerous times ive seen sludge give pressure warnings and vtec problems.
