So my mates found a nice yellow s2000, i was taking a look at it and he mentioned VVT power acceleration.. I have no idea what it is.. is it some sort of cheap "power chip" type thing?

    Not really...

VVTLI is the Toyota version of VTEC - it involves lift which opens up the inlet a little more...

VVT is variable valve timing that makes power more linear? There is no lift. correct me if Im wrong...

i think me and viet would know about VVTL-I and VVT considering we both had cars with VVTL-I corolla sportivo and celica lols

If you both had 2ZZ-GEs, then why are you saying that VVT is basically VTEC? VVT or VVTi is totally different to VTEC in the S2000. The S2000 doesn't have an infinitely variable intake cam which is basically what VVTi is. VVTi and VTEC are two totally different systems. VVTL-i is the equivalent to i-VTEC, so that would have been a bit better (although the S2k doesn't have i-VTEC).

do we really have to get technical because if we do.
S2000 does not have "vvt" then the end
The seller obviously has no idea that hondas variable valve timing is called vtec so he just called it some vvt power accel bullshit.

vvt isn't only done by toyota. Many other car companies use a form of vvt as it saves on fuel and they name it different things.

Although all your answers are correct. I don't think its necessary to get technical :P

But yea lets not let this thread become Toyotas VVTL-i vs honda iVtec. I've seen enough of these things

Here we go another cyber hero thinking he's cool with the fail slogans.

No one questioned the car in question.

I was commenting on the ancronym VVT and how it is not VTEC
