yah, amp all four speakers and have it tune properly, i think that will solve your problem, it may not be sounds like the new FD but atleast its closer. dont know what front speakers your using, i just hope not the stock one, ....
if your h.u has the option then try lowering the hpf for all 4. preferably have the 6x9's set at a lower hpf point than the fronts too. dont have it set too low for either tho or you'll run a risk if you like to play your music loud..
seems odd that youre aiming for the stock fd system mark.. more weird that you took out the sub&, saying you didnt feel the need for them but then ask how u can get more bass..
i rkn put em back in, you dont need a false floor, just a way of securing the subbox down. if you need the bootspace for baby pushers or groceries or whatnot then forget what i said.
The stock FD audio system is the level of quality im aiming for, they seem to sound great without an external amp. do you know the specs of the system?
hmm I was thinking the HU might be the problem but want to be sure before I waste money. dont have the model no. atm, it was the cheap mp3 one with aux jb-hifi was selling
lol FD system isn't as great as u think - Decent i'd say..
Get a speaker amp, only way of getting decent bass out of the Sony speakers I know because I have four of em lol. Easiest way is just to hook up a sub.
You can push your Ford or your Holden but I'll drive my Honda.
thanks for the advice guys, rep+!
my sound system at the moment is no where near the fd system, so something similar is what im after. without a false floor there isnt any room to put the sub, as its just the spare wheel and theres a strut bar which also gets in the way.
any particular amp anyone can recommend just to power speakers?
Post up some pictures of your speaker locations, both from the front and from the back if possible.
If speakers are not in an enclosure they will not produce bass. I worked on a Civic recently which had a similar problem so I would really like to actually SEE what the setup is like.
Another thing I noticed today, because of the way the EK is built you can hear the back speakers much more promenitally than the fronts. Fade the back ones a bit and see what that sounds like. Partly being 6x9s in the rear too.
Boxing them sounds like a great idea though.
