- Dont know if thats a good price, but i struggled to find my size anywhere!
Tyres are BRILLIANT, BEST so far in terms of Saftey and dry/wet traction.
Falkens used to aquaplane, which is very scary (ey, im talking on steep down hill slopes in a suberb, im not a track driver) - MUCH more grippy in wet/dry
Would definitly buy again, HUGE improvment on the car!
A++
When i first walked in to all the tyre shops/ called em they said anything less then Adrenelines was shit, but after reading forums i specified the KU36's and noticed all the marketing bs go away. So if your on a budget like me (and your not a track driver) these tyres from my point of view are awesome, if not overkill. I might downgrade to save money next time - depending on treadwear.
ps. dont buy falken 512's
!
i thought the KU36 were a semi slick? am i right? for that price thats ridiculous value.

No mine aren't semi slick .. when i googled them to find you a pic they all showed as semi-slick which is weird. here's the pic

//// -- After some googling/checking the website i found out they are KU31's according to the pictures, mabey they guy at kmart was confused or somthing..
SORRY!!!!
But its weird because the size i bought isnt avalible on Kumo's website so i cant answer your question mirage, try calling some tyre centers i guess.

Yep sounds like they're KU31's, KU36's are semi-slicks and you'd notice straight away just from looking at the tread pattern.

Anyone used Federal 595 tyres in 205/45/16?
Seem pretty cheap and reviews are not that bad.

Depends which ones... Federal make 4 different 595's...
595
595EVO
595RPM
595RS-R
I use the 595EVO daily in a 205/45/16 on my EG and I love them. Heaps of grip and extremely predictable when they do break traction. I've had my set for over 12months now and the front's are about at the wear indicators.
I drove around a kangaroo that jumped out in front of me at about 105km/h the other day. All my mate in the car behind me could say to me was "your suspension ant tires just paid for themselves"
Thinking about sacrificing wet some wet grip and going for the 595RS-R next. But I only just saw the 595RPM just then and they didn't exist when I got mine so I'll do a bit more research first.

If you are after a sticky street tyre then there is: Hankook RS2, Hankook RS3 and Toyo R1R. The R1R is a very sticky tyre and certainly outgrips the RS2 but I haven't read any good reviews compparing it with the RS3 yet. For competition tyres in that size I know of Hoosier R6, Nitto NT01 and Hoosier A6.

I can't recommend them (yet), but I'm in the process of researching budget challenged tyres and have whittled it down to either Federal SS535 or Accelera Alpha in 205/55/15. So, if anyone has any experience with these I'd like to hear it...
A stiff lower sidewall is essential for sharp handling, and both of these tyres seem to have fairly stiff sidewalls (according to the famously accurate thumb pressure test), certainly much stiffer than say Nankang NS-2, and just about anything else I've 'tested'. Some sidewalls will be softer near the tread, but that's OK so long as the sidewall is stiffer near the bead (i.e. the lower sidewall). Stiffer sidewalls also tend to be thicker, but it's easy to confuse the thickness of the structural part of the sidewall with the non structural thickness added by rim protectors.
Something to look out for (in addition to a substantial bead filler) is whether or not a tyre has a single or dual ply sidewall construction, with dual ply being stiffer (all else being equal). This will be stated on most sidewalls, the only exception to this I've yet come across being Toyo's (which seem to have very little info on the sidewall). Both the Federal SS595 and the Accelera Alpha have dual ply sidewalls, and the federal is supposed to have at least one sidewall ply in steel...
FWIW, I currently have a pair of BFGoodrich g-Force Sport on the front (also sporting a dual ply sidewall, and a stiff bead filler according to BFG), and I've found them to be a very good tyre, but alas they have very little tread left as they approach only 15,000km (not quite illegal yet).
