I called up the insurance company and told them what happend and only needed a window replaced. The excess was $750 cause im a p plater but was only $500 for my old man. I didnt go with either option i just got a mate to source out a window for me and got it for 200..

Sorry to hear about the car Tammay. Don't buy ANYTHING for the car - let insurance do the lot. If you fix anything before the assesment you could incriminate yourself - admission of fault? An off duty cop who rear ended my DelSol CRX a few years back tried it on me but he was drunk too and I had witnesses so he just settled in cash.

I am a panel beater by trade and from the pic I assure you that is not bad at all. Just some control arms, a quarter etc. I have an amazing beater/painter in Frankston - replaced my drivers door and sill when my friend hit a sign in the first 12 hours I had my s2000. He does only high end cars/muscle/rods etc and wins a heap of shows a real pro. Called SOKOOL PAINTWORKS. He is endorsed by all insurance companies to I highly recommend him. Also I am about to sell one or two sets of standard AP1 S2000 wheels too, so if you get him to quote for a new wheel from Honda at the stupid retail price, you could buy a full set from me! Even got a set he painted black for me too.

PM me if you need any help.

    James.

good thing you're bragging about it on a public forum where insurers can search

any bit of proof that its your car and they deny your claim

and also. a car will get written off if a % of its insured value is required to fix it. most insurers are on 50%

if the diff on OPs car is destroyed then it may be close to a write off depending how much it was insured for

aaron you remember georges crash right? looks to be similar damage to OP's car. insured for 41k. written off

I remember years ago back in about 1995 when the EF Falcon was just out.

My father bought home a brand spanking newly smashed Falcon Futura with about 25km (yes 25, not 250 or 25000, just 25km) on the speedo.

The chassis was ****ed. Whats known in the industry as a 'banana' (think of the shape of a banana and you'll figure out why - the car was obviously t-boned).

2wks later, he had a brand new chassis rock up one day from Ford themselves - no plates, no nothing. I remember he had to jump through hoops to get it, and photograph the entire process..... I helped strip every single, nut, bolt, wire & panel from the wreck to the new chassis everyday after school (I was about 11 or 12 at the time). It took a while and was an epic job. It was an 'easy' job in comparision to other wrecks I've seen, just *very* time and labour consuming transferring EVERYTHING across.

The point I'm making is, no matter how new the car, if its not worth the time repairing, it will be a write-off.

I have seen a very similar damage on an S2000 and it was written off. The suspension components are costly. Hope it works out ok! Did you get the guys details, and were the police called?

nah the cops werent called. i got aami my insurrance company picking up the car on monday with a tow truck so they can get my car assessed. I believe that when people say the car will never be the same..that wuld be due to the fact that the chassis might b bent. So far from the looks of it, i just need a new control arm and a fixed body, the rim is destroyed and once they pick up the car on monday..it will take 48 hours 2 inspect the car to see what the problem is. i also noticed this morning that my front kit also has a crack from it..im guessing this was also on impact because there was a traffic island right where i was turning and seems like the front maybe brushed onto it. well..i hope it is not a ride off.
