Good tyres for Euro 17" Rims

I've heard only good things about the Sumitomo Z3s.

I have had a set 235/40/R18 Sumitomo Z3 for about 20000 Km. Very good tires. I drive fairly aggressive, and they are wearing quite nicely.

The wet performance of tire is almost as good as dry. I have a few twisty bits near my house and in the wet its only marginaly slower. Mind you coilover do help though

If you have 18's try to get the 235/40/R18 sizes as they are the holden standard tire size for 18's and are a quite a bit cheaper.

I got mine around $190 a wheel from Jax quick fit in brisbane.

since it's a common size, when i called around for 225/40/18 i got quoted round the $260 mark in sydney though.

I put some Toyo Proxes 4's ($320 FOR 245/45/R19) on the rears of my F6 and they hold 2nd gear quite well under full boost, however after about 10,000 k's they spin through 2nd so now I'm going to try the Toyo T1Rs which are around $350 for the same size

toyo t1r's on my euro and they are pretty quiet, prob been used in the 5k km mark or so and find it still pretty reasonable.

i paid around 1k mark for them for 225/40/18 and have been rotating them between wheels and back and front so havent really worn them much.

if price weren't an issue i'd say go for continental contisports 3 since they are rotatable assymetrically.

Thanks heaps for the link. Got some very good reviews. I am not due for new tyres for probably atleast the next 6-12 months so please let me know how you go with them on your car. Also if 4 tyres come in under $1000 then even better.

Consider the Yoko C.drive. I recon that's what I'll get as my needs are similar to yours. They seem to fair well in this respect, and they have a great wear rating.

Yes these have been mentioned by a few people. Also mentioned frequently are the Adrenalin RE001 and the Michelin PP2

RE001 and ER300 were on special last week for $193 for 205/55/16 size.

Will just wait and see what's on special when the time comes around to changing tyres.
