Would you buy a car that has done 200,000kms

I've always been told to pretty much disregard any cars that have done 200,000+ kms unless they're quite cheap - by my dad, mechanics and car dealers.. Just wanted to get a general consensus of this forum..

    I'd do it.

KM's aren't something to worry about, the general condition of the car is something to be concerned with.

If you have all appropriate tests done before purchase you won't get any nasty supprises.

In the old days this was a reasonable thing.
The way modern cars are, you can get one every now and then over 200,000 kms and it's in great condition.
All depends on price, condition and if the service history is consistent.

    200,000 kmz is normal

then again u can't complaim obviously because ur budget can only get ur something from the 90's which has 200,000kmz on the clock.

cars these days drive to 300-400 with no major issues if its been looked after

Depends on the condition of the engine.

Up to you. Why do you want to sell it if it is in perfect condition?

Then don't get another car if you have to sell this one. Take public transport until you finish uni and get a job. Then get any car you want after getting a permanent job (hopefully the economic crisis will be over by then).

If you manage your expenses well, you probably won't even have to sell your car. I went through 8 months of unemployment without cash from parents and kept my car.

Yeah, I noticed you were shopping for b16a as well. I'd rather postpone or cancel that until you finish uni and get the dc5r. If you get desperate, sell the headers and cannon muffler too.
