    Brake booster with ABS fit for none ABS?

    Hi, I got a brake booster & MC of the DC5 with 15/16" to upgrade for the stock ek1.

    However, the bb&mc from the dc5 have abs unit while my ek1 doesn't had ABS.

    so just wondering can i replace it? or i need to get the non-abs larger bb&mc to upgrade.

    thanks

    Update in evening
    First, thanks 90Lan to confirm that i can use the ABS DC5R bb&mc in EK1 :P

    Since both of the Ek1 7/8 and DC5R 15/16 brake booster and master cylinder are sitting in the room, i just take few pics and measure the dimensions to show everyone the similarity and differences of them.

    The left is DC5R while right is EK1

    Pic 1 - show the size of mc of them.
    DC5R = 15/16, EK1 = 7/8

    Pic 2 - show the overall diameter of DC5R is smaller than EK1

    Pic 3 - however, this pic shows the DC5R had thicker booster compare to EK1.

    Pic 4 - shows the shaft of the DC5R is bigger than EK1
    DC5R = 56.5 mm, EK1 = 50.9mm

    Pic 5 - but, this pic shows they had same length of the screw to connect to pedal.

    Pic 6 & 7 - shows they had the same length between the top and side screw

    So, conclusion is - you can upgrade ur civic with DC5R brake booster & master cylinder. this wil increase ur brake significantly.

    "BUT" there is always a but. which is the civic had one hard line on side mount while dc5r had it on front mount. SO, you had to modify ur hardline to get them fits.

    I wil do this conversion in coming few days. hopefully it wouldn't be too hard to modify the hardline.

    it will fit
    doesnt matter if you havent got abs
    bigger the better
    but you will have trouble with the lines as the dc5 holes are at the front and ek are on the sides
    so you mite need custom new hard lines
