i got the exhaust shop to install my genuine mugen exhaust. i already had headers and all they were supposed to do was put flanges on a new high flow cat and bolt it all up. i told them sooo many times..repeated not to cut the exhaust or header, coz i want to be able to unbolt the cat and install the catback onto other cars..but wat did they do. chop and weld my mugen exhaust. and the same thing happened to my mate, they chopped and welded his genuine mugen header. soooo pissed

just go there and ask them how would they install cat+mugen catback, if is sound rite DO IT, if not just walk out......
    no they are too lazy
unless they are making some good money off you they wont go to great lenghts to do anything that is not off the shelf
as said before honda flanges are a odd size and cannot be had with the off the shelf normal sizes
so being a mechanic they have all the parts on hand to fix your car everytime you want it dont there and then ?

like i said your parts together 1st
    then tell what to do

Just get a JDM cat and get it over and done with. Last time I called up an exhaust shop to fit my exhaust they told me exactly "usually these aftermarket exhausts dont fit correctly and need some welding to be done". If you get all the parts you need just take it to a mechanic or do it yourself.

My suggestion is simply "do it once and do it right".

and i'd personally do what 90LAN said.
    GD3 -> EP3 -> RB3

    FS Rays nuts etc

I have a question for the threadstarter. Do you have a DC2 or a DC5? Because it will simply bolt up fine if you have a DC5.

    sorry should have explained..
    chargeR i have a DC2R
and the job has been done!!
i am very happy and would recommend ANYONE and EVERYONE in PERTH
    to AUTOWORKSHOP.com.au
yes they are a evo specialist but my friend recommended them
    and they r top notch!!!
i went in told them that i didnt want the exhaust cut IF possible..
and they told me they would let me know b4 they touched anything..
they called me with updates and to let me know what was needed..
they made sure that it was all okay b4 they started the work..

so the end result.. original custom ricer exhaust was cut off..
coz the previous owner welded the thing on tight.. LOL
and new high flow cat installed new flanges forged..
and then everything else was basically bolt on after that..
no cutting of exhaust at all!! thanks to u guys advice!!

verdict so far!! mugen twinloop GREAT sounding exhaust..
nice and quiet!!! something that is AMAZING after driving around for so long
with the ricer exhaust blowing my ears out.. nice deep sound at idle that u cant hear inside the car.. only from outside.. and vtec roar is very nice and deep and not overly LOOK at me im speeding.. hahahahahaha

i am a happy boy today!!

thanks again for all ur input!!!
