    lay off the pot mate

they work GREAT. You obviously are LOOSENING not TIGTHENING lol. You do need to lightly hold it in place , put your ratchet onto LOOSEN and it will grip the oil filter. Then slowly rotate and it should crack the oil filter seal and take it off. Finish with your hand watch out for the excess oil.

PS i have had a similar one i stole off a engineer mate - had it for about 12 years. works great.

You need to be patient and make sure the fingers grip the filter perfectly. Personally, if I was using a Honda or Hamp filter, I'd just use the Honda oil filter tool. 100% success. This finger tool is good if you work with filters of different sizes.

oem tool works best, after all youre working on a Honda, not a Datsun, why complicate things with useless junk when Honda make the cap for the filters lol

    next hot question:

can u get this from Honda parts? and how much?

edit: finally, the hex-like top on the oem oil filter makes sense...

It's a worthwhile investment. I use it to loosen, with the ratchet if required. Then I tighten by hand with the tool over the filter, without using a ratchet.
