i remember reading somewhere that the spoon FD2R version used the base model FD1 as their chassis for development

but IMO, think a FD1 is easier to mod compared to FD2 which has a different engine base and more interior assec

i'm running both cars.. both have potential in their own ways.. pros and cons.. some parts are readily available for the fd1 that aren't for the fd2.. performance/handling wise.. vice versa..

but the R18 was never intended for performance, so there's not much of a platform for expansion is there?

R18A turbo kits available from taiwan and the US.. hoping mugen does a R18A supercharger but doubt it

and true tat edm, theres seems to be more mods for r18a rather than the k20z2 .. think its due to the FD2 engine not offered in the States, them having the r18a and the k20z3 (found in their Si, which i think should have been put into the FD2)

yep that's right.. but some performance tuning, weight shedding to the car and handling upgrades, the fd1 can be a very fun car..

I agree, there's not much we can do about the k20z2, the most of what I can think of is the RBC package + headers + stand alone ecu(e.g. motec) + greddy e-manage.. if anyone has the time, money and effort and wants to go down the performance path..

i dont know why the k20z2 is so crap. I've been an 8thcivic member for much longer than ozhonda and i reallly like what they get there. There a tonnes of k20z3 tuning opportunities there
