weak! tell me about it!! when i fulled out the stock accord engine i s discovered that the front and the passenger side mount were broken.

I put the h22a in with a new front mount ( as said before ) and with a new prelude passenger side mount ( with a simple mod to fit )

anyways, i just replaced the front engine mount and 70 percent of the vibration is gone.

I'll tackle the rear engine mount when i can, its a much bigger job, in the meantime i have a spare modified prelude mount to replace the existing mount. im gonna change that for good measure.

yeah, i think i'll pay the mechanics next door to do it!!

last night, was changing the passenger side mount, had a tyre lever between the engine and the mount for leaverage so the holes for one of the bolts would line up, i had to hold the tyre lever and got my mate to start puttting the bolt in while saying to him " make sure that its in properly so u dont cross thread it"

have a guess what he did? faaark! cant for the life of me find a spare bolt in all my bits lying around.

update, i had a bent drive shaft, fixd that but the ****ing vibration is stil ther and just as bad! Feels like the passenger wheel is goin 2 fall off. It clunks & sqeals & wobbles the whol front of the car during acceleration and deceleratin. If i put clutch in it disapears. I cant feel it thru the steering or brakes but the car tramlines under hard accelration. If i jack car off ground ther is no freeplay anywhere. What the **** is wrong with it?

Hey all, some of u might have been reading over the past few months about a bad bad vibration and how i have been tring to find out what it is..in that process we have fixed a few things along the way, namely a couple of wheel bearings and engine mounts that needed replacing anyways.

I just had it up on the hoist and we ran it in gear and have discovered a bent drive shaft!!!!

im happy now, u may ask why but its because i can see whats wrong with it!!!!

so....time to bugger around. I have a spare shaft which i'll get the inner and outter c.v joints connected to then fingers crossed it should be fixed.

How the hell do i get a bent drive shaft?

my only conclusion could be is that the prelude shaft i am using is out of a front cut that had a decent accident on the passenger side front.

hey all, still have this vibration, its terminal now.

I had the car in at a transmission specialist and they thought it was the inner c.v joints

So i took the car to a c'v joint specialist and they drove the car and then told me that the inner c.v joints on hondas are pretty much throw away items once they are wornout.
the told me that they are dear as poison to buy new ones and rare as rocking horse shit to find 2nd hand.

Luckily the boys at honbits hepled me out and i have a pair of h22a inner c.v joints coming.

i'll take the shafts out and drop them off at the c.v specialists along with the good c.v joints and wee what happens when i get it all back together.

    update guys.

still tracing this vibration, replaced the drivers side inner c.v joint ( had a slight tear in the boot, over a very long time all the grease came out but did not make a huge mess) and basically had no grease in it so it cooked it and screwed it up.

Also, when i put the car on the hoist to do this work the passenger side wheel bearing which i had replaced 3 times before was worn out severly.

so, ordered another wheel bearing, talked to my mate the mechanic who had on every previous occasion when replacing the bearing just used a big ass hammer to belt it out of the hub and back in....... DUMB ASS in doing so damaged the hub which is causing new wheel bearings to vibrate and wear out.

So, i have ordered another hub and when it gets here i will be getting installing that along with the new wheel bearing and putting back in both drive shafts and fingers crossed this whole shit fight that cost over $1000 to date will be fixed.

The vibration is finally gone, fixed it on friday......replaced the drivers side inner c'v joint ( $100) replaced the passeger side hub and wheel bearing. ($210)

took the car to sydney and back on the weekend, 1050km trip and car is still sweet.

conclusion....in hindsight i think the problem was only the drivers side inner c.v joint and a broken front engine mount.

i had taken my car to 2 mechnics and none of them knew what was wrong with it so for me it was a process of elimination to fix the vibration.

So happy its fixed, car is like a new car to drive and you can get the power down with out it feeling like the engine and wheels are going to fallout/falloff.

the car has been suffering this vibration since october last year.
